Utilizing Tools: Google Workspace

IFSA LC UNHAS recognizes the importance of providing volunteers with valuable experience while trying to maximize the contribution to our projects. The series of Pervect, stands for Perceive Volunteer Education, part 2 was initiated to educate the volunteers and taught them necessary skill sets not only to improve their capability as an individual but also to suit the needs of our organization.

Every organization has a bunch of documents needed to be organized and also tons of meetings to launch a project. Workspace provided by Google is a series of tools that integrate to one another. To give an introduction to the Workspace used in IFSA LC UNHAS as part of the activities organized by IFSA LC UNHAS volunteers on how to use the online workspace efficiently to volunteers. The activity was carried out via Google Meet on September 21, 2024 attended by 20 IFSA LC UNHAS volunteers and was held at 8 PM local time. Furthermore, this meeting was held to develop understanding of the workspace and explain how to use one in expectation to develop skill on using workspace.

The material presented was about how to carry out a project, it is advisable to use several applications that can facilitate the implementation process. As an example, the use of Google Doc, Slides, Spreadsheet, Google Meet, Gmail, Calendar, Form, Drive and Classroom. From the applications mentioned, Google Doc, Slides, and Spreadsheet could be used collaboratively in working on documents; Google Meet could be used as a means to conduct virtual discussion and presentations; and Gmail used as a formal communication tool for members.

After listening to the presentation of the speakers and discussion in the Q&A session, we can conclude that today’s event provides very valuable insights related to ‘Introduction About Google Workspace IFSA LC UNHAS’. We have understood how to use the Google Workspace used in IFSA LC UNHAS, and how we can utilize and also use software effectively in carrying out every task and responsibility. Overall, it was a very interactive session to introduce volunteers on how they should use Google Workspace. In the future, we truly want to see more interactive and educational sessions for both members and volunteers and raise their interest in utilizing the work by Workspace.
